The Atlas Orthogonal (AO) Technique

At the Head and Neck Center of Hawai'i, we specialize in Atlas Orthogonal chiropractic care, a precise, non-invasive technique practiced internationally. Dr. Perrino is a Board Certified Atlas Orthogonist, and patients travel from across the country to our Kona clinic.

How AO Works

No Twisting. No Cracking. Just Precision.

Atlas Orthogonal is an instrument-delivered chiropractic technique that uses specialized imaging and biomechanical analysis to measure the position of the atlas vertebra. Each adjustment is calculated from those measurements and delivered with a fixed, low-force instrument rather than by hand.

Most patients feel little or nothing during the adjustment. The technique was developed by Dr. Roy Sweat and has been refined through decades of clinical practice. Patients come to us for headaches and migraines, neck pain, jaw tension, and post-concussion symptoms.

Whether Atlas Orthogonal care is appropriate for you depends on your history and examination. Dr. Perrino will review the findings with you, discuss risks and alternatives, and refer you for medical evaluation when that is the right step.
